Cities on Flame
"Coalescing a mission statement of "wicked women, unholy passions and fire nights" with influences musical, aesthetic, chemical and carnal, NIGHTBITCH are "purveyors of some of the finest occult-themed, sleazed-out, trad-flavored metal around" (CT Indie).
NIGHTBITCH formed in the Summer of 2009 when guitarist Ryan Adams met the acquaintance of celebrated doom metal vocalist Phil Swanson. The band, rounded out by drummer Chris Taylor and bassist Mark Eles, soon released its "Sex and Magic" debut and traveled to Dublin to participate in the second Dublin Doom Day alongside genre legends PAGAN ALTAR.
Upon returning from Dublin in late 2010, NIGHTBITCH and Swanson amicably parted ways and Taylor assumed vocal duties. The band has gone on to release the "Chainmaker" EP and the sold out "Peculiar Worship" cassette single while opening for such legends and cult favorites such as PENTAGRAM (twice), DIAMOND HEAD, NIK TURNER'S SPACE RITUAL, BLACK STAR RIDERS aka THIN LIZZY, MIDNIGHT and HIGH SPIRITS as well as playing the 2013 installment of the New England Metal & Hardcore Fest.
NIGHTBITCH has received high praise in the pages of Terrorizer, Decibel and Iron Fist as well as from countless online outlets. The band has also earned a reputation as a "must-see" live act with a penchant for strip club gigs and a full production reminiscent of the sleazy '60s & '70s exploitation flicks which inspire the band just as much as Judas Priest's 1970s catalog.
Now featuring longtime friend Dave Parmalee behind the drums, Taylor is free to become the frontman The Man Downstairs has always intended him to be. When not offering up able homage to the likes of Lord and Hensley from behind his Hammond, he stalks the stage with sensual menace. With the first offering from NIGHTBITCH Mk III coming as a 10" vinyl on April 30, 2015 via The Ajna Offensive for North America and Doomentia Records for Europe, the band aims to transport the listener to that halcyon time between when hard rock became heavy metal."
